Headquartered in the Newtown section of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, we are approximately 30 miles north of Philadelphia and 20 miles south of Princeton, New Jersey. LSAC is best known for administering the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). However, we do much more. Provide technical/organizational leadership for the company's core computing environment. Maintain and support an HP/UX system environment, including 10+ UNIX systems, HP MSL 6060 tape library, Brocade fabric, and HP-EVA 8100 SAN. Perform resource and capacity planning. Design/maintain policies and procedures to ensure system availability and manage each system for optimum performance through monitoring, reporting, analyzing, and tuning. Enforce standards such as change control and root cause analysis, keep up to date with technological advances, and evaluate and recommend new technologies and upgrades for the enterprise.
Maintain a hot site for disaster recovery purposes, using HP's Continuous Access to keep data current for Priority 1 applications. The site has two HP/UX systems, EVA 4100, HP MSL 4048, Netbackup software, and Brocade switches.
BS degree in computer science or related discipline. Three years in computing field, preferably in a multiplatform environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable. Two years' experience as a UNIX system administrator in an HP/UX based Oracle RDBMS environment. Experience in backup and recovery of data/systems.
Experience preferred in various SAN technologies, functionality, and management as it pertains to storage and virtualization capabilities, in addition to data replication, performance management, monitoring, and capacity planning. Experience in ITIL principles preferred. Strong LINUX skills preferred based on future technology requirements. Knowledge of virtualization technologies a plus, as well as specific experience with EVA 8100 and EVA 4100, CommandView, and Brocade fabric. Experience with the following technologies a plus: Teamquest, Storage Essentials, Oracle, Serviceguard, and Netbackup backup software.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work well with others who have varying degrees of technical experience.
