Free Time
Sightseeing, shopping, and dining will compete for your free time in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Take time out to enjoy a tour of Toronto that includes the CN Tower, the world’s largest freestanding structure. Or, visit the Distillery Historic District, Toronto’s newest center for arts, culture, food, and entertainment, where you can explore art galleries, artisan boutiques, specialty retail stores, and cafés. You may even wish to take in a show while you’re in the entertainment capital of Canada, as the world premiere of the stage adaptation of The Lord of the Rings will be playing while we’re in town! Information on shows and tickets can be found at www.TourismToronto.com.

Toronto’s The Second City Troupe at Club LSAC
LSAC sponsors an event at each annual meeting that provides an opportunity for participants to have some fun while raising money for others. This year, you will have the opportunity to laugh along with the famed troupe The Second City at Club LSAC on Wednesday night. Your pay-what-you-will charitable donation will be the cover charge to join friends for an evening of frivolity and conviviality. Proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Habitat for Humanity groups working to rebuild New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Your generosity will benefit those displaced by last fall’s hurricanes. Club LSAC is the happening place in Toronto on our first night together.

Thursday Evening Dinner on Your Own
In order to be able to visit the Hockey Hall of Fame, we are deviating from our usual format and offering “dinner-on-your-own” on Thursday rather than Friday evening. Check at the registration desk for a list of restaurants that are in close proximity to the hotel.

Hockey Hall of Fame on Friday Evening
Hockey is one of the most popular sports in Canada, and the professional ranks now have outposts in many American cities. We are celebrating this Canadian pastime by visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame on Friday evening. Hockey fans will have a chance to see the Stanley Cup and memorabilia from throughout the sport’s history. Try to shoot a puck past an electronic goalie or face off with a virtual pro. There is a lot to do and see at this unique sports venue. We will gather for drinks and dinner at the Hall of Fame, which is a two-block walk from our hotel. You can take a quick look, have a bite to eat, and then enjoy the fabulous entertainment possibilities in Toronto. Or you can come and stay awhile and immerse yourself in hockey lore. You don’t have to be wearing a Maple Leafs jersey to attend; feel free to wear a jersey celebrating your own team! There is limited seating for dining at the Hall of Fame, so tickets for preferred times will be distributed at registration. Activities will be available to everyone throughout the entire evening.

Plugging In
Make time to visit the LSAC technology resource room, where you can have a conversation about LSAC services and discuss training with members of your regional team. They will be available to meet with you individually to talk about questions you may have or to train you on that nifty thing you saw in your last session. They can also walk you through a demonstration of our next-generation service, ACES2, coming in 2007. Members of the Law School Support Services group will be available throughout the conference to meet with you at your convenience.

Newcomers Orientation
If this is your first Annual Meeting and Educational Conference, take advantage of an opportunity to join your fellow newcomers at the orientation session on Wednesday before your special reception. Seasoned admission professionals will guide you through the annual meeting events, pointing out sessions that may be of interest to you. Learn how to use this educational opportunity to advance your knowledge of law admission, meet some mentors you can call on for help, and make some friends who are also just beginning their careers in admission.

ADMIT-M User Group Meeting and Preconference Workshop
An ADMIT-M User Group preconference workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 31 from 9:30 AM to 3:15 PM. This preconference workshop is an opportunity to interact with LSAC staff and other ADMIT-M users to discuss concerns, learn more about the software, and contribute ideas about the future development of the service. It is open to staff from all ADMIT-M User Group member schools. You may register for the preconference workshop online when you register for the annual meeting, or you may use the paper registration form provided with the preconference workshop announcement.
